Dr. Ashley Chiasson
Dr. Chiasson was born and raised on Cape Breton Island. From a young age, she knew she wanted to pursue a career as an optometrist. She spent many years working as a clinical assistant in various optometry clinics across Canada in order to gain experience in the field. In 2008 she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis Xavier University and in 2010 she started her optometry degree in Cardiff, Wales, UK. She graduated in 2013 from Cardiff University and then spent the following year gaining optometric experience in multiple clinics in London, England where she completed clinical rotations at Bristol and Moorfields Eye Hospitals as well as VisionCare Medical Eye Centre. During this time, she took a keen interest in orthokeratology and pediatrics.
Dr. Chiasson is ecstatic to be back home in Nova Scotia and to be practicing at Valley Family Optometry. Her passion, knowledge and dedication will ensure personalized vision care with individualized service for our patients. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys hiking, travelling, playing the fiddle and spending time outdoors.
